A political controversy has erupted in Gujarat after senior BJP leader and Member of Parliament Mansukh Vasava issued a strong warning that he may quit the party if justice is not delivered in an alleged ₹75 lakh extortion case. His remarks have sparked intense debate across political circles.

According to Mansukh Vasava, AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava has been exerting pressure on government officials, particularly from the Roads and Buildings Department. The MP alleged that officials are first asked for project-related information and later subjected to intimidation for extortion. Vasava claimed that a demand of ₹75 lakh was made and that this was disclosed earlier by the district collector in the presence of the BJP district president.

However, the controversy escalated after the district collector later denied any such demand. This denial reportedly angered Mansukh Vasava, who accused the administration of shielding Chaitar Vasava. The MP stated that if the government and administration fail to ensure justice, he would consider leaving the BJP. He has also announced plans to meet the district collector personally to seek clarification.

Responding to the allegations, Chaitar Vasava dismissed all claims as baseless and defamatory. He said that the district collector has already clarified that no extortion demand was made. Chaitar Vasava warned that legal action would be taken if false allegations continue to be spread.

Additionally, allegations regarding BJP workers receiving contracts during the Prime Minister’s programme were also rejected by Mansukh Vasava, who challenged Chaitar Vasava to present concrete evidence instead of making unsubstantiated claims.

The issue has now moved beyond political rhetoric, raising serious questions about governance, administrative accountability, and political ethics in the state.
