In a significant crackdown on illegal cow slaughter, Jambusar police in Bharuch district have arrested four accused, including a woman, after seizing nearly 135 kilograms of beef from the Kharakuwa area of the town.
According to police sources, the raid was carried out after receiving specific intelligence regarding illegal storage of beef in the locality. The arrested accused have been identified as Mohammad Safi Ismail Qureshi, Mohammad Hanif Ismail Qureshi, Jabir Qureshi, and a woman identified as Khatun alias Kherun.
In a strong message against such offences, police also conducted a reconstruction of the crime by taking three accused through the main market area barefoot, highlighting the seriousness of the offence and reinforcing the rule of law.

The police have registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Gujarat Animal Preservation Act, and Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, and further investigation is currently underway.
