Uma Vidyalaya, located in the Tarsali area of Vadodara, has taken an innovative step towards the holistic development of students. The school organizes a special “Mindfulness Series” every Saturday for adolescent students, aligning with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The initiative is led by the school’s principal Bhavna Chavda, who also serves as a happiness coach and personally guides students during these sessions. Through mindfulness practices, students are encouraged to understand their emotions, overcome negative thoughts, and develop a positive mindset.
The sessions help students achieve emotional balance, inner peace, and self-awareness. At the same time, mindfulness activities enhance concentration in studies, strengthen imagination and visualization skills, and foster creativity and critical thinking abilities.
According to the school administration, modern education should not remain limited to academic achievements alone. In line with the New Education Policy, emphasis is also placed on the mental, emotional, and value-based growth of students.
Uma Vidyalaya’s initiative is proving to be a meaningful step towards shaping confident, positive, and responsible citizens of the future.
