The United States has carried out precision airstrikes on ISIS terrorist camps operating in northwestern Nigeria. Former US President Donald Trump confirmed that the strikes were conducted on his direct orders, announcing the action through his social media platform, Truth Social.
Trump stated that as Commander-in-Chief, he authorized the military operation targeting ISIS hideouts that were allegedly responsible for brutal attacks against innocent Christian civilians in the region. According to Trump, the violence carried out by these terror groups had crossed all limits.
He further revealed that the terrorists had been warned earlier to stop targeting Christians, failing which severe consequences would follow. “They ignored the warning, and tonight, they paid the price,” Trump wrote.
The US Department of Defense reportedly executed multiple precision airstrikes, successfully destroying key ISIS positions. Trump praised the US military for carrying out what he described as a “perfect strike,” emphasizing that such operations showcase America’s unmatched military capability.
Reiterating his tough stance against terrorism, Trump said the United States would never allow radical Islamic terrorism to flourish under his leadership. Ending his message on a controversial note, he wrote, “God bless our warriors — and Merry Christmas to the dead terrorists.”
According to US Africa Command (AFRICOM), the operation was carried out at the request of Nigerian authorities, with the aim of weakening ISIS’ operational network in the region.
