Jambusar politics has once again taken an interesting turn as former MLA Kiran Makwana has returned to Indian National Congress after spending years in the BJP camp.
Makwana was welcomed at the Congress state office in Ahmedabad by Gujarat Congress chief Amit Chavda, triggering fresh discussions in local political circles.
Many are now asking why a leader who remained active in BJP for years chose to return to his old party just before local body elections. Political observers believe that despite his long stay in BJP, Makwana may not have received the political importance or recognition he expected.
Makwana had emerged as a strong political face in Jambusar after winning the 2007 Assembly election as a Congress candidate by defeating senior BJP leader Chhatrasinh Mori. However, after facing defeat in 2012, his political journey saw several ups and downs.
In 2017, he joined BJP, hoping for a stronger role in regional politics. But over time, his presence appeared to weaken as new faces gained prominence within the party.
Now, his return to Congress has raised a major question — can Kiran Makwana regain his old political influence in Jambusar, or is this simply a strategic move ahead of upcoming elections?
There is also a sarcastic buzz among locals: “He left the party that gave him identity, and returned after not finding space elsewhere.” Whether this comeback turns into a political revival or remains just another headline will become clear in the coming months.
