Residents of Jambusar welcomed a major infrastructure upgrade as the long-damaged road from ST Depot to Tankari Bhagol was finally redeveloped and inaugurated. The road has been reconstructed using RCC under the Chief Minister Urban Development Scheme at a cost of approximately ₹6.61 crore.
The newly constructed road was inaugurated by Jambusar MLA D.K. Swami. The stretch had been in poor condition for several years and served as an important route connecting several villages, industrial areas, salt fields, and the famous pilgrimage site Stambheshwar Mahadev Temple.
Local citizens, traders’ associations, and opposition leaders had repeatedly raised the issue through protests and memorandums. Due to the deteriorated condition of the road, multiple accidents had been reported in the past. With the completion of this new road, residents believe that traffic movement will improve and economic and religious connectivity will be strengthened.
On the occasion, development works of the lake near Pisad Mahadev Temple were also inaugurated. Under the AMRUT 2.0 Scheme (SWAP-1 and SWAP-2), infrastructure worth approximately ₹3.33 crore has been developed, including a compound wall, garden, children’s play area, and other civic amenities.
Additionally, the foundation stone was laid for pond area development near Nilkanth Mahadev Temple under the Swarnim Jayanti Chief Minister Urban Development Program, with an estimated cost of ₹4.16 crore. The project includes earthwork, paver blocks, compound wall, main gate, gazebo, toilet block, recharge bore, and electrical installations.
The event was attended by the Municipal President, municipal councillors, city BJP leaders, and several local representatives.
The newly constructed road and lake development initiatives are expected to boost urban infrastructure and improve civic amenities in Jambusar.
